We offer all kinds of Wine Education and Wine Entertainment...here's some examples!
Oh, and check out what Terry Thompson-Anderson's website has to say about Miss Jane's Wine Classes at Cork and Company: http://www.thetexasfoodandwinegourmet.com/sub_story.asp?category_id=107&story_no=1
WineSpeak 101 ™ - Using the WineSpeak™ 101 template, I will teach you how to write an accurate, eloquent description of any wine. Using an easy “fill in the blank” outline, and some basic tasting knowledge, wine descriptions will flow off your tongue! “Kenwood Chenin Blanc 2003 is a dry, light bodied, white wine. The nose reveals fruity and floral aromas of lemon, lime, green apple and roses. This wine is soft and low acid on the palate, with a short, pleasant, smoky finish.” Well said!
Wine 101 - Secrets of Wine Tasting! In this class, you will learn the secrets of wine tasting...First, we will enjoy a nice white wine and learn the basic steps of wine tasting: sight, swirl, sniff, sip, and savor! Moving on, we will learn to compare and contrast wines, learning new wine tasting skills with each wine. At the end of the class you will be able to recognize dozens of wine aromas and understand wine tasting in terms of acidity, sweetness, tannin, body, balance, flavor, and, most importantly, what you like!
Drink Your Words! - Do wine terms drive you crazy? Ever wonder what is really meant by wines described as crisp, lively, buttery, or earthy? In this class, we will learn about crazy wine terms that describe acidity, aromas, flavors, tannin, and body. Along the way, of course, we will demonstrate each description with a delicious wine. After this class, however, you are more likely to describe these wines as firm, fleshy, penetrating, lively, supple, steely, or…well, you get the picture! It’s all about the words of wine…drink up!
When Wine Met Food - You’ve heard the rules…red wine with meat, white wine with fish…but you’ve also heard that these rules can be broken! In this class I will teach the principles of “flavor dynamics” and reveal the reasons behind the well-known rules. Using the basic taste components of salt, sweet, sour, tannin, and oil, I will demonstrate each taste component and the effect they have on the flavors of wine paired with food. Using these principles, you can find a successful match for any wine or any food!
Of course, we can custom design a class for you!
